This French B1 course is based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
The French B1 course provides an individual tutor and prepares you for the public exam in French level B1.
You can study at your own pace and level with the aim of learning French at an intermediate level. The objective of the course is to learn French at a higher level.
Your French language skills should be on level French A2 before you start this French B1 course. You should also have access to people outside the course with whom you can practice French. It is possible to combine this course with full-time or part-time work or training.

The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages is a guideline and at the level scale for the languages developed by the Council of Europe. Scale level used to describe the level of knowledge and skills of language students in Europe and increasingly in other countries. The aim is to create a common European standard for different levels of language.
The scale is divided into three main levels, each with two sub-levels, a total of six different levels:
A – use of the language at the basic level
A1 – beginner level
A2 – elementary level
B – independent user
B1 – Intermediate
B2 – Upper Intermediate
C – use of the competent language
C1 – advanced level
C2 – language skills almost equal to mother tongue
The framework describes the level expected by the user of the language at different levels in reading, listening, conversational and writing skills.
The DILF, the DELF and the DALF information:
Issued by the French Ministry of National Education and Higher Education, DILF, DELF and DALF are diplomas based on the 6 levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. They are independent and valid without limitation of duration. Internationally recognized, they can be spent in more than 1000 examination centers around the world.
DILF: Initial French Language Diploma

DELF: Diploma in French Language
– Public: all public
– Levels: A1-A2-B1-B2
DALF: Advanced Diploma in French
– Public: adults in university or professional situations
– Levels: C1-C2
The DCL
Created by the Ministry of National Education, the DCL is a professional national diploma created especially for adults. It meets the needs of the business world and comes in two versions: the DCL FLE for the usual French – levels A2 to C1 – the DCL FP for professional French – levels A1 and A2.
The CCIP professional French diplomas
The diplomas of professional French of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Paris Ilede-France – are addressed to all those who wish to validate their ability to communicate in French in a professional context.
The DFP levels A2 and B1: general practitioners, are aimed at all those who want to start professional French.
DFP levels B1, C1 and C2: allow to master the general know-how common to all forms of professional communication

The diplomas:
The diplomas of the DELF and the DALF are independent: you can therefore present yourself freely to the examination of your choice. You can also present yourself to several diplomas in the same session.
Where to register?
Registrations are made directly in examination centers, both abroad and in France.
What are the registration costs?
Abroad, the cost of enrollment for each diploma is set by the French Embassy’s cultural cooperation and action department and the CIEP. In France, it is set by the rectorates. For rates, contact the test center of your choice.
Tuition fees: kr 3800 (NOK)
Access days: You will have access to the French B1 course for 90 days from the day you sign up.
Study load: The time you spend on French B1 varies widely and depends on how much you can already, but you should expect to spend about 60 hours to complete the course.
Course materials included in the course price: French B1 includes access to French B1 Web resources (document DEFL), individual support and guidance, access to additional materials and tests, written works with rich comments and opportunities for video conferencing.
Target group: French B1 is developed for people around the world who would like to learn French on the intermediate level as described in the Common European Framework of References for Languages.
Prerequisites: You should be able to read English text. You should be at level French A2 before you start French B1.
Feedback and certification: The submissions and the course will be graded with Completed/More work required. When all required coursework is completed. You will receive a personal course badge. If you like, you can share your badge on LinkedIn, Facebook etc.
